About Mike Matthews

Hello, my name is Mike Matthews and I am a full-time professional nature photographer in Louisville Kentucky. Hunting, fishing, and photography have been a passion of mine for my entire life. I am also a master falconer and have been hunting with birds of prey for over fifty years.

The thought of creating a website dedicated primarily to hunters and fishermen has been a dream of mine for many years. I grew up in a family where the tradition of hunting and fishing goes all the way back to the early 1970’s when my dad introduced me to rabbit hunting for the first time. From there, my two older brothers and I both continued this tradition by hunting and fishing together on numerous occasions for many years thereafter.

Fast forward to today and I also have three sons of my own who are avid outdoorsman.They have hunted and fished all over this great country. So, seeing this family tradition passed on to the third generation brings me so much joy. I continually give God thanks for this great blessing and for allowing me to follow my dream.

Over the years, I’ve been truly blessed to have my images published on the covers of nature magazines, hunting magazines, as well as being utilized for articles for numerous magazines. Some of my images have also been used by universities and the Department of Fish and Wildlife Services.
